County Heritage Award for Claregalway Castle

The restoration of Claregalway Castle by Dr. Eamon O’Donoghue and his team won the Oranmore Area Award for this large scale project.

Eamon O’Donoghue and his restoration team have put many years into the restoration of Claregalway Castle.

The Castle will, for many centuries to come, be a window to life in the distant past.  It will play host to an exhibition of all the artifacts found in the recent archaeological dig which was carried out to facilitate the bridge works as well as hosting a garden festival in July celebrating the tree in Irish life. …

Playground in Lackagh

The new Community Playground at Lackagh will open to the public on this coming Saturday February 4th at 12 noon.  The official opening will be held at a later date but the playground will be available for all to use from this coming Saturday.  However parents are reminded that safety and care must be taken by users at the new playground.  Tremendous credit is due to the hardworking committee that has put in place a playground that will be of huge benefit to the community.  Persons are asked to enjoy this excellent facility and play safe.
