Claregalway is set to benefit from the Smarter Travel Area Bid currently being prepared by Galway County Council and Galway City Council with the potential for significant investment to deliver and improve infrastructure in the village to promote walking, cycling and the use of public transport.

Greg Cunningham’s extraordinary rise to the top of Irish soccer continues this week when Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni includes him in the Irish squad for this week’s friendly against Brazil. It is only four weeks since Greg made his debut with the Manchester City FC senior team in their victory over Scunthorpe United in the fourth round of the FA cup. Claregalway National School Parents Association is hosting a Secondary School Information Evening on Wednesday 3rd March, 7pm-9pm.
At the time of going to press, seven secondary schools are planning to attend including St. Enda’s, St. Mary’s, the Presentation, Galway, Taylor’s Hill, the Mercy and Athenry Vocational and Jarlath’s in Tuam.
