Claregalway Basketball Club Report 2009-2010


Claregalway basketball had a very successful season this year with many teams and players receiving top awards. The past season has been very eventful and hopefully the season to come (2010-2011) will be just as good. The season started well with Claregalway hosting the U18 Women’s Basketball National Cup Playoffs in September. Huge public response to Jerry Flannery inspired PREDA raffle


PREDA Galway were delighted to have raised 1500 euro from the draw organised by Jerry Flannery, Ireland and Munster player, where signed squad jersey were donated by the four provinces and Jerry donated his player issued Ireland jersey he wore in the autumn international against Fiji.

All profits from the raffle co-ordinated by The Western Hotel, Prospect Hill, the home of PREDA Galway, and supported by Galway Community College will be given directly to help the children rescued from adult prisons and the child sex industry. (more…)

Aidan, Cian, Colm and Nada represented Claregalway Educate Together at the Ballybane library Table Quiz on Wednesday the 12th of May. They faced stiff competition from 15 other teams.

The intrepid Claregalway team were in the lead for almost every round and faced a nail-biting tie break situation at the end. Each member’s strengths were crucial. (more…)
