The Ladies Club end of year Presentations took place on Saturday 3rd December. The evening was a great success with each team from U10 to U16 being honoured. Continue Reading...Claregalway Ladies played Caltra Cuans in the Div 2 League Final on Sunday last 20th November in Mountbellew. This clash was eagerly awaited as it brought together the 2011 Connaught Junior and Intermediate Champions. Played in ideal conditions the teams were evenly matched but the Claregalway Girls were converting more of their chances and they opened up a 4 point lead 0-6 to 0-2 by the quarter hour mark. (more…)
Continue Reading...Claregalway Junior Ladies made the long journey to Greencastle, Co Tyrone to play Ulster champions Sperrin Óg in the All-Ireland Semi final. The morning travel and previous weekend trip to London seemed to be taking a toll early on the Claregalway girls as the home side raced into a 3 goal lead after just 10 minutes of play. A few positional changes and Claregalway got to grips with their opponents and stopped the Sperrin Og’s goal rush. (more…)

Congratulations to our Junior A Ladies who had an outstanding win over Sligo champions Cloonacool/Tubbercurry in Kiltimagh on Sunday last. Right across the Field, every player played magnificently with Claregalway opening the score with a goal after just 36 seconds. This set the tone for a very convincing first half performace which finished Claregalway 2-13 to 0-4 . In the second half Claregalway stayed in control despite a bigger effort from their opponents who upped their game to score 3 points in a row in six minutes . Claregalway responded well and continued to notch up their scores and an excellent run and goal from Fabienne Cooney sealed the game in the last 5 minutes As the game moved into the final moments Cloonacool/Tubbercurry got a goal but not before being denied again and again by Cullen who made some excellent stops. The final score was Claregalway 3-16, Cloonacool/Tubercurry 1-7. (more…)
Continue Reading...Claregalway Junior ladies travelled to Leitrim Gaels Pitch in Leitrim Village on Saturday last to play Leitrim Champions Borrnacoola in the Connaught Semi-final. Claregalway got the perfect start with 2 goals in as many minutes and led at halftime by 3-8 to 1-0. The Claregalway Girls went on to win by 4-17 to Borrnacoola’s 2-1. (more…)

Claregalway GAA Club are holding their second Fashion Extravaganza on Thursday, October 20th 2011 at 8.00pm in the Clayton Hotel, Briarhill. This event is to support the ongoing development of the Claregalway GAA Club. Two training pitches are now in use but there is still a long way to go and the club has embarked on a five year development plan to raise the funds to enable completion of this project. Club membership is constantly increasing so these facilities are greatly needed.
Continue Reading...On Saturday last 24th September, Claregalway Junior Ladies took part in the Tesco All Ireland Sevens At Naomh Mearnog G.A.A. club. Having played 4 games in their group, they came out on top and played a quarter final against Mungrets St.Paul’s which they won well. They played St.Sylvester’s in the semi-final and again the Claregalway girls were successful. They met Thomas Davis of Dublin in the final, which was a very tight tough game.

U14 Tigers bowed out of the Championship on Sunday when they played away to League winners St Furseys in the Semi Final. Furseys dominated for most of the first half creating many scoring opportunities but excellent work from Rebecca Downes and the Claregalway full back line of Gwen Horkan, Ellen Connolly & Deirdre Keane denied them on many occassions.
